Scarlett's Torch

from The Craft of the Cocktail

  • 1 ounce Bourbon Whiskey
  • .5 ounce Marie Brizard Peach Liqueur
  • .25 ounce Simple Syrup
  • .25 ounce Lemon Juice
  • .5 ounce Cranberry Juice
  • .5 ounce Orange Juice
  • Flamed Orange Peel (Garnish)

Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the flamed orange peel.

I created this in honor of the Olympic torch when it passed through New York on the way to Atlanta in 1996. For true Olympians, try a nonalcoholic version: 1 ounce peach purée instead of liqueur, and increase the orange and cranberry juices to 1 ounce each.
