Javanese Daiquiri

  • 1 ounce Van Oosten Batavia Arrack
  • 1 ounce Scarlet Ibis Rum
  • 1 ounce Toby's Lime Cordial
  • 3 fresh Curry Leaf
  • Wedge of Lime (Garnish)

Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a double rocks glass over cracked ice. Garnish with the lime wedge.

TYSON BUHLER, 2013 This started as a spin on our house gimlet, but then it took a sharp left turn. It's a confusing drink. Arrack is a funky, weird ingredient that a lot of people don't like. And when you see "curry" listed in the ingredients, you think it's going to taste like Indian food. Despite having so many weird ingredients, this ended up being a surprisingly approachable cocktail.—TB
