from The Craft of the Cocktail

  • 2 ounces Light Rum
  • .5 ounce Blackberry Brandy
  • .5 ounce Bénédictine
  • .5 ounce Lime Juice
  • Cherry (Garnish)

Shake the ingredients with ice and strain into a small cocktail glass. Garnish with the cherry.

They served this at the famous Algonquin Hotel in New York City at some time in the past, but sadly you would probably get a blank stare from the bartender if you ordered one tonight at the hotel's Blue Bar. I served it with great success at the Rainbow for many years.
