  • 2 ounces Brandy
  • .75 ounce Lemon Juice
  • .5 ounce CuraƧao
  • .5 ounce Simple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Soda Water

Shake all the ingredients except the soda water with ice and serve in a tall glass with ice. Top with the soda and stir.

This drink from The Flowing Bowl, by William Schmidt (1891), was frequently bottled for picnics in the nineteenth century. This drink also works well as a cocktail: Just shake and strain into a cocktail glass and omit the soda.
